Events manager

Overview

As and when certain events occur in the system, eXii creates a log and then allocates the resultant notifications and actions to the most relevant users. This all takes place and is managed within Events Manager.

Events and notifications can be automatically generated – as in the case of changes made to party records, new accounts being opened, or payment schedules being altered – or any qualifying user within the system can initiate them manually. Users are then able to view their own log of notifications and, since all events and notifications are managed within one component, a history can be viewed at a glance.

When events qualify according to a set of user-definable rules, a series of subsequent automatic actions can also be configured. In the simple example of a customer calling with a change of address, an event that takes place in Customer Manager, Events Manager will immediately notify all relevant users and then generate an acknowledgment letter via Document Production. In short, Events Manager is a highly configurable, central management tool for the recording and allocation of events, actions and notifications.

Illustration

An inexperienced customer services agent, working through eXii's Customer Manager interface recruits a new customer. As the process of logging the customer's data proceeds, Events Manager is monitoring Customer Manager activity and is instantly notifying relevant parties and systems of the required ‘back-end’ activity.

The Document Production module is automatically triggered to create and send confirmation documents and contracts. The supervisor is also notified of the activity taking place in Customer Manager in order that the new agent's work can be thoroughly checked. Accounts are set-up, files and databases are updated and a history of activity is established alongside the new party record. Since the organisation is at an advanced stage of eXii adoption and development, this work is almost exclusively undertaken by automated systems. Events Manager makes certain that all actions and notifications are made plain to designated systems users.
