IPL is based in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, with its unique heritage dating back to Roman times. Our prestigious offices are situated in the centre of the city, on the river Avon, next to the world famous Pulteney bridge.
As well as its rich past, Bath has a lively present, with much to offer its residents. There are excellent sports and social facilities, including many outstanding restaurants and clubs. The area is also renowned for having one of the best selections of pubs (quantity and quality) in the UK.
On the sporting front, Bath is famed for its rugby team. Somerset County Cricket Club play on a ground in the city and Bath Racecourse hosts meetings throughout the flat season. Participatory sports are well catered for, both at the public sports centre and at the local country club, where IPL staff enjoy preferential membership rates.
Bath is a sophisticated cultural centre, hosting many international concerts, festivals and exhibitions throughout the year. The Theatre Royal is very highly regarded, staging many major productions before their West End openings, and the city has several notable galleries and museums.
Most of Bath’s attractions, including the sports centre, and the many and varied shops, are within easy walking distance of IPL’s offices and can be enjoyed at lunch time as well as after work.
Bath is surrounded by open countryside and is within easy reach of the south coast and the north Somerset/Devon coast. At the same time, it is close to the motorway network and the major business centres in the UK. Bristol is only 15 miles away and London can be reached in under 90 minutes via the frequent high-speed rail service.
The area has a good selection of both private and state schools, many of which are highly regarded. Medical facilities include the Royal United Hospital and the Bath Clinic.
